Privacy policy
Last updated on 26 October 2026
This privacy policy explains which personal data we collect through our website, our contact form and our customer portal, why we do so and what your rights are. We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy law.
1. Who is responsible?
CompuMaster , zegestraat 19, 3500 Hasselt , company number BE0873.539.735, is the data controller. For questions about your data or to exercise your rights, e-mail info@compumaster.be.
We have not appointed a data protection officer (DPO), as this is not required for our activities. You can contact us directly.
2. Which data do we process and why?
Contact and quote requests
When you fill in the contact form or request a quote, we process your name, company name, e-mail address, phone number, the selected service, the subject and your message, the language of the website, the date and time and your IP address.
We use this data to answer your question, call or e-mail you back, prepare a quote and follow up on your request. You also receive an automatic confirmation by e-mail.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in following up on requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the IP address based on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and spam.
Customers and the customer portal
If you create an account or are a customer, we process your name, company name, VAT number, e-mail address, phone number, preferred language and your password (stored encrypted), as well as the content of your support tickets and attachments.
We use this data to deliver our services, support you, invoice you and inform you about your account and tickets.
Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legal obligations, such as accounting law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
E-mail and phone
We only contact you about your request, quote, account or tickets. We do not send newsletters or advertising without your prior consent.
Spam protection with Cloudflare Turnstile
The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is filled in by a human. To do so, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and characteristics of your browser and device. Cloudflare does not use this data for advertising.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in securing our website and your data (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Website statistics with Google Analytics
Only if you consent, we use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Google Analytics then collects a pseudonymous identifier (through a cookie), the pages you visit, your clicks, your device and browser type and your approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We use these statistics to improve our website.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. More details in our cookie policy.
Advertising with Google Ads
We advertise through Google Ads. Only if you accept marketing cookies do we measure whether a visit through an ad led to a request. Google then receives data about the visit and the request (not the content of your message). We do not use Google Ads for personalised advertising or remarketing.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw via "Cookie settings".
How you found us
With a request, we note how you arrived on our website: through an ad, a search engine, another website or directly, and through which page. Only we see this, in our own admin, and it helps us know which channels work.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in evaluating our marketing (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Technical data
On every visit, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, the date and time, the requested page and your browser type. This is needed to run the website securely and correctly.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Google Maps
The map on our contact page is only loaded when you click "Show map". Your browser then connects to Google, which processes data under its own privacy policy.
3. How long do we keep your data?
- Contact and quote requests that do not lead to a contract: up to 2 years after the last contact.
- Customer data, your account and support tickets: as long as you are a customer, and up to 2 years after your account is closed.
- Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as required by Belgian accounting law.
- Google Analytics statistics: up to 14 months.
- Cookies: see our cookie policy.
4. Who do we share your data with?
We never sell your data. We only share it with service providers that process it on our behalf under a data processing agreement:
- our hosting provider (website, database and e-mail);
- Cloudflare, Inc. (Turnstile spam protection);
- Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and Google Maps, only after your consent or click);
- our accountant, for invoices.
We only pass data to public authorities when the law requires us to.
5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Both companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission adopted an adequacy decision. The European Commission's standard contractual clauses also apply.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data and receive a copy;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- have the processing restricted;
- receive your data in a common format (portability);
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Send your request to info@compumaster.be. We reply within one month. To protect your data, we may ask you to confirm your identity.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35 / rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
7. Security
We protect your data with, among other things, an encrypted connection (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, access limited to staff who need the data and regular backups.
8. Automated decisions
We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing or profiling.
9. Minors
Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
10. Changes
We may update this privacy policy, for example when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
